Hello everyone!

I don't know if this is the place to post new member introductions or not, but I couldn't find it anywhere else.

I've used a Windows based PC for as long as I can remember. For years, I tried to customize my PC to look like a mac. I guess you can say I had a bad case of Mac Envy.

My laptop PC took a crap on me in the last few days, and I had enough! I took a little bit of my savings and got myself a brand spankin' new iMac- FINALLY!

So far I have the basics down, but I'm sure there is tons more to learn, which is why I joined this community. I look forward to interacting with all of you!

Good job on the purchase. I'm about a month ahead of you and so far I've loved my MB. The learning curve isn't steep, but you will grow to love your machine.

The reason that many things are great is because of the depth of all the features it has, such as Final Cut Pro.

Mac OS X is great not only but primarily because of its simplicity. It does what it's supposed, does it well, let's you do what you're supposed to, and let's you do it well.

In other words, it gets out of the way and lets you be you, on your computer. Windows finds a million ways to get in your way and slow you down.

Welcome!!

Welcome! You will get great help here. Finding this site made a huge difference for me when I got my first Mac in 2004. :)

I almost bought back in 2002 or 2003. But I was a gamer and stuck with an HP laptop. With AMD, back when AMD was kicking ass! Bad move... Saved up for years... 13 months later, it burned up... Why did HP stick a desktop CPU in a laptop? I was 13-14. But hey, only nice thing I had, no extended warranty gone. Now I buy extended warrantees.

You guys are great! Thanks so much for such a nice welcome.

Its been about 24 hours with my new iMac ,and I love it more and more every minute that I'm on it!
