I joined this site a while back and started reading a lot of the posts that were going through, mostly in the iPad, iPhone, Buying tips, and Community forums and I really like what I've seen. There seems to be a good mix here of fanboys, loyalists, trolls, and people that actually know things, and I would love to start contributing. Over the course of the next year I hope to be getting an iPad and an iPhone to go along with my Macbook Pro and will definitely be talking about them a lot on here. If there is anything that you guys think I should know about how things work here please let me know!

What's so bad about the iPhone forums?

Nothing, really. Just the threads. And the posts themselves.

Well, and a lot of the users. Oh, and all the whining and bickering back and forth. Not to mention the general lack of positive contributions.

But that's pretty much it, though - everything else in there is fine.

use the search. mroogle before posting a new thread!

This tip alone will help prevent most of the grief a lot of "newcomers" get from the more cynical of us "veterans". As for MRoogle, which is a highly useful MacRumors forum search tool, here's the link: http://mroogle.*************

EDIT: Yeah, you've probably seen this link before in the forums (I see you're a "regular" now), but it can't hurt to reiterate.

I find the white spaces quite enjoyable, actually.

Welcome.

In time you'll learn to hate (and avoid) the iPhone forums like the rest of us.

Also don't post in the Steve Jobs Blu-Ray thread either; it's been going for about four months and it's just turned into a proper troll-fest ;)

It's been going on in one form or another ever since Blu-Ray beat HD-DVD.

If only Microsoft would give the 360 a blu-ray option... every gamer in america would have a blu ray player and it might force Apple's hand. grr. sorry, don't reply to this, I don't want to start a flame war.

It just aggrivates me sooo much!

Oh yeah, welcome! :)

and try not to thread-jack

No worries - my console of choice is a Wii. :D

And I just got my first Blu-Ray player last week. Still don't have any discs, though.

Welcome to MR ...

this place really is the best place if you have an issue with any of your Apple products ... there are some very nice people on here.

others will jump in with just totally useless comments ... however even those can be quite entertaining.

This is a good place to have conversations on everything from your computer setup to what clothes you like to where in Winter.

Thanks for all of the advice so far! This site may pose as a problem for me though, I've been posting and reading sooo much ove the last few days!
