So, like many on this board, I got an Iphone 4s with a yellow tint.
Or at least I thought it was a yellow tint.
How did I know?
Right out of the box I noticed it had a yellow tint.
Then I compared it to my other 4s 64 GB, and the one I purchased on launch day looked cooler than the one I purchased a week later from Apple.com. The 4s 64 that I got on launch day definitely seemed like it had better contrast.
I've been reading everything I can on the subject.
So far, I've heard:
Yellow screen goes away after a week
Something with the LEDS not turned on fully
Glue (really?)
Different Screens.
Being that I didnt want to really keep swapping it out for until I got a good one, I decided to give it a week.
What I've noticed?
Okay, on my 4s 64 that had the yellow tint. It's been a days on and in use. It seems that the whites are getting whiter ... but they still have the yellow tint a little bit. But is this me really noticing it, I wonder? Or is it me telling my self to get used to the new colors? I'm really starting to question myself.
I've done a few side by sides now after a couple of days. Straight on, they are starting to look the same, more equal in white, whereas before, when i took them out of the box, the yellow tinted one was clearly more yellow.
At certain angles, though, if I look really close, it's clear that there is a yellow layer tinting the whole screen. For example, in the brightness menu. When I look at the screens straight on, I can't notice the difference as much (the yellow becoming more cool?), but when, for instance, i look at them from a down angle, it is clearly more yellow.
The blueish one still seems like it is more sharp for text, but the yellow tinted one seems to becoming more sharp.
This, of course, could be in my head, which is why I'm writing this. I've read so much on this subject, with nothing on the net being definitive, that I'm thinking this could be in my damned head, with random ranting about the subject influencing my thinking, unknowingly.
So I ask, who here had a yellow tinted 4s, and the yellow has started to subside? I really don't buy the glue drying theory, but it would be cool if that's all it was.
I'm not the OCD type, but I noticed this right off the bat, and whether or not it is more "accurate" as some people have gone on about, I don't like it as yellow.
I want the colors to pop and my text to be sharp. I don't want to be the guy that had to replace his phone over this, but it is really bugging me, particularly coming from a phone like the Galaxy 2 with the great screen that it had.
Anybody elses screens getting cooler over time? So far, I've read a lot of people talking about it, but not many users saying, "yes, my 4s was yellow but then the yellow soon went away ... "
I will post pics soon, as I would like the opinion of the forum.
