I've had my MBP for almost two years now and have always been wary of using SMC Fan Control for fear of damaging something. After getting Assassin's Creed on Steam for 10 bucks this week my machine has been overheating in windows while playing it. I decided to give SMC Fan Control a whirl and I don't know why I never tried it sooner.
