I purchased a black Magic Mouse about a month ago from Apple's web site. Arrived the next day and it wobbled on my desk because the feet/tracks on the bottom weren't even. Took it to my local Apple store for a replacement about two weeks later, got the replacement home, same thing. Returned that for a refund, waited a week, and ordered another one from Best Buy. Arrived today, same problem.

It's not my desk. I own several other Magic Mice(?) purchased by myself and various employers over the last few years and they're all perfect (I only bought a new one along with a black Trackpad because I wanted matching black accessories for my M1 MacBook Pro). I tried all three mice on various surfaces that I'm certain are flat (like my MBP) and they all wobbled.

What's up with Apple's QC?

That's interesting, a friend bought the black version a couple of weeks back and had the same issue. I put it down as just a rogue QC issue.

After 3 unsuccessful Magic Mice...
... have you considered trying a 3rd-party mouse instead?

So did I at first. I haven't found mention of it anywhere else though.

I've been using the Magic Mouse for years and like the multi-touch surface as well as the low profile. Scroll wheels feel like garbage to me in comparison.

I just ordered a 2021 Space Gray model from OWC instead. It's a better match for my M1 MBP anyway and hopefully it'll be of the same quality as my older white ones.

I have this same issue with my black Magic Mouse. I am currently just living with the wobble. I mostly use the track pad.
Same issue with black Magic Mouse; just living with it.

Not knocking you guys if it's not a big deal to you, but shouldn't we be holding Apple to a higher standard than this?

Yes, but the hassle wasn't worth my time (I primarily use the trackpad). I figured the teflon rails will wear down evenly with use.

Exactly my thoughts. I have so many other things in my life that matter so much more.
Me too, which is exactly why it's so annoying to deal with this kind of issue on a $100 mouse from a company that sells itself on the quality and precision of its products.

I read thread after thread on this board from people nitpicking every aspect of every Apple product, so I'm just a bit surprised to find a high tolerance for a wobbly mouse :)

Yes. I’m not happy about it and it does bother me. I just don’t really want to deal with returning it to find the same issue with a new one. As I said I use the trackpad more so I don’t notice it as much.

You sure it's not the surface upon which you're using the Magic Mouse that might be uneven?
Yup :)

If you still really want the Black MM to match your other accessories (which I totally get) my recommendation would be to try exchanging once more, and ask the apple rep to let you open it and test it in store before taking home?

I ordered a Space Gray one from OWC from the last gen. Cheaper and probably higher quality ?
