Hey!
I just wanted to share it with someone, since I've been bashing iPhones quite a bit, because in the past I've had awful experiences. About a week ago I bought iPhone 12 mini (I was considering between Samsung, iPhone XR and iPhone 11), but ended up getting iPhone 12 mini, because of 5G. The reason why I didn't get iPhone 12 was because they didn't have it available, so I just got 12 mini. I gotta say I am pretty impressed and I'd like to thank the user who told me that newer iPhones since 11 don't have battery issues (My father had iPhone 7 and it shut down randomly and the same happens with the people that have iPhone SE (1st generation. Even with new batteries) and if it would not have been for one user here saying that since iPhone 11 battery life is good I would have never gotten an iPhone 12 mini, because there are people who keep denying the battery issue on older iPhones.

I'm really happy with my iPhone 12 mini and boy, it's fast and I pray to God that it'll be fast when iOS 15 will be released. The camera is amazing and I sometimes play games on my iPhone when I am at work and it still lasts easily the whole day. I've usually played Vice City around 2 hours per day. It's fast and since I'm an Android user as well I'm pretty proud that I haven't downloaded a single Google app (including YouTube) and this might be the beginning of degoogling myself.

I'm also stunned that the Face ID works with everything. I couldn't use face recognition on many apps, such as my bank app, so this was the only reason I was considering of getting iPhone SE, but when I looked at the camera comparisons between SE and 12 mini I kind of thought it'd be better to go with iPhone 12 mini.

10/11 I recommend iPhone 12 mini. Makes you feel like Batman.

I haven’t had an iPhone slow down after an update since maybe iPhone 6s? Since then iPhones are blazing fast.
My iPhone 5s isn't as fast as it used to be though. Sometimes some apps, like YouTube crashes and Instagram is slow. It's not as bad as iPhone 4s on iOS 9, but you get the point. I'm so amazed with it's speed on iOS 14 and I hope it'll be as fast on iOS 15 + battery life is great.

Of course if you needed a phone, it's understandable.
But, I'm curious why you didn't hold out a few months for the 13?

I'm definitely a big phone guy (I hope that the 13 or 14 Pro Max has a 6.9 display, at least 6.8). I didn't use an iPhone personally until the 6 Plus came out. I loved iOS and my iPads, but I wouldn't use it as my main device. I was stuck with Samsung Galaxy S and Note series phones which I hated and still hate with a passion. The 6 Plus was a life changer.

But last month I bought a renewed iPhone X to do beta testing with iOS 15 this year as I only owned my 12 Pro Max and I always regret putting the beta on my main phone every year. But I like using the X too much now to put such an unpolished OS on it yet. I don't think I could use it as my main phone, but I really really like it as a second device. I definitely will jump on the 15 beta at some point with it, but perhaps in a month or so. I wouldn't want two big phones.

The 12 Mini looks great. Great design aesthetic. Great idea on paper. I think the only flaw it has is subpar battery life. Otherwise, for the people who want that size of phone it's the perfect choice. Perhaps people are mostly choosing bigger phones now or people were upset by the battery returned them or read the reviews first and decided to not try one, regardless the 12 Mini is not selling well and I honestly look for Apple to scrap it this year and just offer 13, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max models this year. All it really needs is a bigger battery and maybe do a tiny bit bigger screen for those on the fence of the 12 Mini being too small but 6.1 being way too big let alone 6.7. I think it will be discontinued though.

Just ordered 12 Mini's for both wife and myself. Her SE (original) was showing some fatigue and I was able to trade my 8 and receive the credit which resulted in zero $$ amount purchase. She requires a smaller form factor and I have always preferred a smaller phone. Throw in the fact that she could get purple and it was a quick sale. Battery life not that much of a challenge as we both work from home. Since she had an SE (original), I also thought that upgrades would soon be short lived and not really being superstitious, wasn't crazy about getting iPhone 13.

Is it a sure thing that iPhone 13 will have M1 chip inside? I hope my iPhone won't come obsolete too fast…

I agree, currently using the iPhone 12. I think the only downside of a mini is the smaller battery. It's probably worth it though for how comfortable a smaller phone is to hold! ;)
The battery is smaller, but to be honest, so far I've got no issues. As I've said I play Vice City at work and I play it around 2h per day, I think. (Before anyone judges, it's really quiet at work and it has been super quiet thanks to Corona for almost a year now and there's literally nothing else to do).
And I watch YouTube on Safari and I've really got no issues. The charging is super fast.
