Hi everyone, Sadly I'm leaving the iPhone party and I'm selling my 4S to a friend and I want to make sure that he won't get my iMessages etc.

Also, how do I deactivate my iMessage account and FaceTime so people Text me directly without trying to iMessage me?

Plug the phone into your computer and hit the "restore" button in iTunes.

When it prompts you to restore your settings from your latest backup, just say no, and enjoy your brand new, fully wiped phone.

You don't even need to bother connecting to iTunes on a PC or Mac.

All you need to do is go into Settings / General / Reset and select "Erase All Content and Settings". This will wipe the phone completely and restore it to the same state as if you were unboxing it from the factory.

This will work if the phone is stock, not jailbroken.

Or, for those who actually read the opening post.....

Settings -> Messages -> Send & Recieve -> Apple ID -> Sign Out
Settings -> Facetime -> Apple ID -> Sign Out
Settings -> iTunes and App Stores -> Apple ID -> Sign Out
Settings -> iCloud -> Delete Account

Now, to restore the phone to factory settings (providing it isn't jailbroken):
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings
