I'm using my friend's upgrade...how it works?

My friend is eligible for an upgrade but is going to stay with his current Iphone. So he's going to let me use his upgrade.

My question is can he just order it online, have it shipped to his house, and then give it to me and I activate it?

Or he orders it and picks it up from AT&T or the Apple store, brings it to me and I activate it?

Or will we both have to go to the AT&T store and have the sales person handle it?

You might have to bring it into an AT&T store. Go with your buddy too to get his data plan removed if he wants. Since it uses a microsim, you may need one for yourself.
