hi all i have a 17inch core2duo imac from early 2007 i am having quiet a bit of trouble with my imac

it freezes alot and i have tried restoring the whole thing to factory settings reinstalling fresh os an everything i still have the stock 1gb ram

it has been showing these signs since mid 2009 and finally on jan it gave out and would not boot at all no chime no display no fans or hdd startup noise

i brought it to repair and apple replaced the logicboard and ram

it was fine till about a month after that and again i was getting alot of freezing and so i tried restoring again

and for a while seemed alright i even used a external hdd to keep all my files and everything to free up space on the hdd which is a 160gb hdd and only used the internal hdd for apps so it had about 100-120gb free

then in late may it again gave out and same symptoms as when i first brought it for repair and again apple replaced the logicboard

and now i have been barely using it since i just got my ipad and used it a few times for syncing some new songs and apps

and now the same thing happend no startup chime black display no fans starting up and i am going to call apple for another appointement with the geniuses

now i dont know what to do do i just bring it in for repair and hope it will last me a month at least or try and sell it for parts and save up for a new imac which will take me a while as i have to save up for college this coming semester and i will be needing my computer for that
i have no other computer to use

i have no clue why it keeps failing it is in excellent consmetic condition as stated both time i took it for repair by the genius guy
i keep it well ventilated as well

my friend told me that when he had multiple big repairs of his macbook pro apple just completely replaced it and now he is going strong and no troubles with the new macbook pro

do i have any chance that apple may just decide to replace my imac?
if they do decide they want to replace my imac do they still make 2007 model 17inch imacs?

please guys help me out and advice me on what i can do

thanks for reading this long post
