After 12 years of producing music at home, ive made the move to video.

Ive been using a demo of Premiere CS4, along with my Canon HV40. The iMac handles the capturing and editing of HDV quite well with no hiccups.. I am however thining of moving to Final Cut Studio.

Problem is however my low spec'd early 2009 iMac. Its a 2.66Ghz Core 2 Duo - 4GB Ram and a very small GeForce 9400M.

When it comes to CPU processing, im sure i'll be fine. Ive read however Colour utilises the GPU.

Will my lack of GPU just basically slown down processes. Or will I have trouble running some processes?

In the end. Can my spec iMac run FCS?

What they said...

But I have a canon HV30 that I did work on for a major project or two and by the time I was done the 2nd large project, it was time for a quad core MP.

Color was decent for doing the job, but rendering was an overnight job for bigger projects.

IN the end, if you just started with video and an iMac, then you'll feel it's great.
