I have a imac 20 inch core 2 duo I think mid 2009 and it has a corrupt image, it does boot up mac osx but the whole screen/image is like pinkish. I removed the motherboard and went ahead in heatgun the nvidia chip on the motherboard, this model doesn't have a separate video card, put it back together but made no difference same pink color image.

Anyone think it needs another motherboard theres seems to be alot on ebay must be common issue looks like. Thanks

For what it's worth, I had this same problem from time to time on my Mac mini ( 2012 model ) using an LG monitor, the problem always disappeared when I turned the monitor off and back on. I know that doesn't help solve the problem with your iMac but it may help you understand why it's happening.
