Hi guys, I bought my iMac May 10, 2008. It is a baseline model, here are the specs:

Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory: 1 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

I went to upgrade to Lion only to find out I need 2GB or RAM. So I went on Newegg and found this RAM:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134670

I want to make 100% sure that will work, because Newegg won't take returns on these.

My other question is since I have 2 512MB chips in my iMac now, after the upgrade I'll have 1 2GB Kingston chip and 1 512MB Apple chip. Will it work alright, even though they are different chips and different brands?

I don't want to buy 2 2GB chips right now because I'm a student and don't really want to spend an extra $30.

Thanks for the help,
Sean
