Hi there

i really don't know which 21.5" iMac to buy:

the entry-one with core i5 2.5 / Ati 6750 / 500 Gb

or the other one: i5 2.7 / Ati 6770 / 1 Tb ???

a few questions:

- i assume that there is very little difference between i5 2.5 and 2.7 but which one would be quieter / cooler ? or would the 2.7 would run hotter ?

- will i see a difference between Ati 6750 and 6770 ?

thanks

What are you going to do with it? Unless you are gaming, the high-end doesn't make much sense and you most likely wouldn't notice any difference.

mmmmm

gaming... 5%

photo editing (photoshop, aperture) 10%

video editing (imovie, encoding) 5%

watching HD movies 20%

rest of the time... web, office, etc

too bad, HDD is only 500 Gb on the entry model

The base model should be fine then. You can always add external storage which is a lot cheaper. Now that there is Thunderbolt, external storage can be insanely fast too.

i'm still using FW800 at the moment

but i'm also considering the higher end model because it has an empty space to put a SSD
