iMac 2011 27" start up disk copy

Hi All
Newbie question, apologies probably been covered a million times.
Disk utility has no option to restore, erase or unmount on my start up disk. Restore is not even shown.
How do I get around this to clone it to my new SSD.

You can use Carbon Copy Cloner, however, the version of CCC you can use might be dependent on what version of macOS installed.

If you just need to clone the internal drive to an external one, either
Carbon Copy Cloner
or
SuperDuper

I'd suggest SuperDuper because

I guess you are logging in as a normal user, not with administrator rights.
Log out and log in as an admin will probably unlock the functions....
