iMac 2011 and Apple LED 27" AUDIO

Don't know if this is possible...

My iMac and Apple 27" LED display is hooked up as extended desktop. Is it possible for audio to run through both units at the same time not just one (or the other)?

I may be wrong, but I don't think there's a way to do this. In system preferences, you can only select one output device. There may be other ways to do it, but none that I'm aware of.

That is what I concluded, but thought it was very limiting. I would think the ability to run the sound through both displays would be preferable but that may be just me. Thanks for your input.

just launch "Midi Setup.app" and set up a custom audio interface

Thanks for the post. Even after following that guide and a couple of others.. I can not get the two to play along with each other.
