OK I just bought a new 27" iMac and want to updated the main internal spinning drive from the stock 1 TB to a 3TB drive that I already own. I have read the numerous threads and blog posts about how non oem main drives will cause the HD fans to spin at high RPMs. OWC through their turnkey program has figured out a way without software or any other oddities to upgrade the drive but they are keeping it proprietary.
Has anyone figured out what they are doing or come up with a way other that HD fan control to up the storage in their iMac?
