Imac 2012 8gb vs. 2011 16gb

Hi, I'm looking to get a new iMac. I'll be using it for everyday web browsing, but the most intensive work it will be doing is heavy aperture and photoshop work for photo editing. How would a 2011 27 inch iMac with 16gb and an i5 processor compare in operation to a 21.5 inch 16gb i5 iMac?
