Hi everyone,

I just bought (ordered at least ...) the new 27" iMac with the stock ram (2 x 4 GB) and I would like to buy 16 GB aftermarket (I noticed that many of You are about to buy the ones from Crucial, so I'll buy them too :) ).

I've been thinking: what about the Dual Channel mode?

Can I add the 16 GB kit from Crucial (2 x 8 GB) to the stock one from Apple (2 x 4 GB) without loosing the Dual Channel? Or should I remove the stock kit and put inside the iMac just the new 16 GB kit?

I red that the 2 x 4 GB + 2 x 8 GB should work, but I'm worried about the Dual channel mode because I would prefer to have 16 GB in Dual channel rather than have 24 GB not in Dual channel.

I don't even know if there is a way to see if the memories are working in dual channel mode or not (I remember that on the regular PC bios it was written, but here on the Mac I wouldn't know how to check this).

Can You help me?

Thank You very much :)
