I will soon be going off to university and want a computer to last me a while. I already have an iPad and an iPhone and I am looking forward to buying the base 27" iMac. Later, I will be be upgrading to a total of 12GB RAM. Any suggestion on the brand of RAM and what can I expect from the 2012 refresh/redesign of the iMac?

My Predictions:

- 37" & 55" Super AMOLED PLUS 8K screens
- 16GB of RAM standard - Expandable up to 128GB
- 256GB SSD + 3TB HDD Standard - Expandable to 1TB SSD + 6TB HDD
- Two Blu-Rays players so you can watch two movies at once
- Apple will probably get Haswell early because they're special
- And always FREE Apple Care

You forgot the expandable display option to allow the iMax experience. :D

You forgot the internal fusion power so it never needs to be plugged in.
 
I would like to see cup holders personally, maybe even a universal remote for my lights, TV, microwave and such as well.
 
I think time machine is getting way outdated. External hard drives? Please...

BTO options should now include a flux capacitor, which will eliminate the need for time machine. I'd also want Doc Brown to come and personally unbox my iMac for me as well.

Let's make sure everyone is happy by also predicting a price reduction and the ability to run Snow Leopard for the Lion-haters. (Microsoft did it for XP/Vista, so why not Apple?)
 
Splendid! I knew we were on the brink of cracking time travel.

I just hope Apple includes the time traveling package in a USB drive, I couldn't imagine how long that would take to download from the App Store. :rolleyes:

Ahahahaha, although I doubt this will happen in 2012, I bet it will surely happen in next 10 years!
