It is a guess obviously but a good one at that.

Has happened many times. Heck, the Macbook Pro and Intel switch was announced in January, which was a pretty big f------- deal.Do they ever do refreshes in January? Right after the holidays?
Well that's fine, I still don't think it will happenHas happened many times.
Not really. It means that logistics isn't going to be a nightmare, as sales are lower and they can have an easier time producing and shipping units. And that's a pretty bad time to do a refresh anyway, isn't it.
Right after the holidays. Way to make everyone immediately hate the gift they got.
Why? What does a article of leaked prices of Kaby Lakes desktop processors have to do with the iMac? And you have managed to get this to a release date for the refreshed iMac? How? Please explain. It is a guess obviously but a good one at that.

I believe it's a very bad time for many people.January is actually a pretty good time for the corporate market: Lots of IT managers will have a replenished budget to work with.
I'm thinking late March is likely. Also hoping for some sort of physical redesign that could be implemented by then.
Must be "Spring" (= 3rd week of March):
- iMac with Kaby Lake + new AMD GPUs + USB-C + TB3
- I still doubt they will refresh the Mini, think it's RIP
- Also doubts about the Pro, it's a niche
- iPad Pro update, maybe even the rumoured 10.5" model ?
Looks like Apple can only "1.5" product launch per special meeting. So my best guess is iMac with new CPU/GPU
and new iPads.
Mini is dead I think.
I don't think the mini is going anywhere but I don't think they will redesign it. They will keep that for a lower end community that doesn't want to buy a imac.
My mac mini is on my TV and works great

Well those days were when Apple announced new products at MacWorld, which was in January.
As to when we'll see the new machines, IMO it depends on what they're going to do with the iMac. If it's just a spec bump, then I could see it come out in January or February once the CPUs and GPUs are ready. If they plan a design change / refresh, then I believe it will be part of the iPad launch in March.
