I purchased an iMac 27" 2020 (entry level) in August 2020, and just yesterday when I logged into the computer there was a vertical line on the monitor. After restarting, the line was still there. Called Apple and they said it could be a display problem and I scheduled to bring in the iMac to the Genius Bar. I didn't purchase Apple Care, but am still under the 1 year warranty. If this is a display problem, what coverage do I have under the 1 year warranty?

Something like this?
Got the lemon machine off the year. Needed replacement of the fan -brand new out off box, now its acting up with a new different sound.
The first one got replaced bc the horizontal glitch. Now its haunting me with its vertical line! I have never considered a pc before, until now...

Mine disappeard when restarting, for now at least......

It also showed while turning it off, on the black screen!

It's definitely a display problem, a hardware problem and it's fully covered under the 1 year warranty.
Even after they have fix/replace it for you, you still can purchase Apple Care.
Modern iMacs are quite prone to get bad after the 1 year warranty, be well prepared for that.
