Hi,

I installed brand new Windows 10 install on external drive attached to my iMac 2020.
I managed to go through all the issues related to T2 chip and installing bootcamp on external drive and now when I finally booted into windows and installed bootcamp drivers my bluetooth and wifi do not work. I can't even find my keyboard in order to connect it because bluetooth is just not present. Same situation with wifi.

I never had such issues with my previous iMacs.

Any advice?

Hi Guys, don't know if my post is fine here, I running windows just for a game, on external SSD is fine with my MacBook Pro and iMac 2019. , however the bluetooth didn't work with my 2020 . is all installed but looks like windows says the computer no have Bluetooth ? someone has same issue , tried all sorts, device manager, install drivers, services manager and nothing cannot make Bluetooth switch ON system panel - I have wi fi

Just read that with Apple BT keyboard the lightning cable will allow it to work without Bluetooth - not know if that extends to this situation with Windows.

Getting ready to install Windows on a mini.

Thanks. I installed Bootcamp on an external drive with the idea to boot off it from either my iMac or Macbook which meant that Win10 was juggling two sets of hardware profiles. After a lot of tinkering (uninstalling drivers, rescanning new hardware) my bluetooth controller finally showed up for both setups. My only problem now is that my keyboard/trackpad can only be paired with one setup (Mac or Win) at a time. So yeah, I have to use that lightning cable to manually pair it when I switch, which is not often, so I'm not too concerned

I picked up a keyboard that has 3 BT buttons, so I can hop from one to another. Trouble at first boot into installing Windows was I have no access to any kb/mouse to initiate. NotApple kb with lightning USB, or a mouse. So I'm dead in the water and stuck it seems...

Yeah, I ran into that problem as well. Luckily, I had an old school USB keyboard and mouse. Are you installing to an external drive? I think if you set up Bootcamp the way Apple intended (partition on your internal drive), kb/mouse drivers would be transferred/loaded for you and there wouldn't be this problem

I was looking at initial setup in windows with no input device. None, incl. Apple's worked at that point --- except I accidentally pushed my Trackpad 2 and saw cursor move! Never got that to show and work on multiple Surface devices. So now I'm in Windows. And yes set aside 100GB of the internal 512GB SSD. Oddly, while my 3rd party kb got me in, now can't "find it." Hoped all the updates would. Something for tomorrow, just glad it is working snappy. Very light on memory, doesn't seem to need or use the 16GB, unlike that Big Sur where browsers eat through 3GB.

I took it one step further and installed Big Sur on another 100GB partition on the same drive. I also did this easy to follow guide to make it nice and pretty: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/388246/efi-partition-change-name-and-logo

Did the drivers works well now? Did you see any differences from the external sdd option?
Works just fine, though admitted, I didn't spend a whole lot of time working in it. I just wanted bootcamp ready should the need arise. I've never setup bootcamp on an internal partition, but external ssd seems seamlessly integrated

How did you install Big Sur on another partition? I'm a bit confused as to what I should do now, I have the same issue, installed Windows 10 on an external SSD, booting is quick and snappy, ethernet connected, display drivers seem good, everything just looks good EXCEPT the Bluetooth... I do have a cheapy mouse and keyboard that are connected via USB and they work fine but this is not what I wanted, I want to use my Logitech MX master and the Magic Keyboard...

What are my options?

Which Mac do you have? Yes, Big Sur was installed on it's own 100GB partition, Win10 on it's own 100GB partition. Are you trying to get BT working in Windows or Big Sur?

Hi thanks for replying! I ended up installing via BootCamp and everything worked out. :) I gave it 80GB's of space and the rest I am saving on an external 500GB SSD (Samsung T5)

I got the bluetooth module working adding an AppleBroadcom64 driver. You can find it if you do a search online.
