I purchased a new iMac 21.5'' and it has been working fine till 2 days ago... when i turned it on, it took about 5 minutes to start up. i dont know whats going on... but i repaired the hard drive and it says there are no problems but it still takes like 5 min to start up.. is there any reason to this? i also have 205 gb free space left. please help me sort this out or give me advice

thanks..

Reset SMC and PRAM. Also, repair permissions with Disk Utility and reselect your OS X volume as #1 startup volume from System Preferences > Startup Disk and reboot

Hi, tried that.. its still doing the same...

First of all back up anything important on your HD as it is possible it's about to fail, then try a full reinstall from the install discs that came with the machine. If this makes no difference in the slow boot then it's a hardware issue.
