I apologise if this issue has been dealt with elsewhere but I am currently trying to decide between buying either of the base models of the 21.5 inch iMac or a Mac Mini.
A sticking point for me is the display for personal preference (not for professional reasons!). I was in the Apple Store and fell for the iMac display.
Now I'm wondering compared to 3rd party monitors by Dell, Samsung, LG and NEC whether it was better or worse as I would look to upgrade my current monitor eventually. I work with a lot of text so would want that to be crisp as possible, but also use for movies, videos and images.
My budget for a screen would be around £200. For that I would want a 21-24inch display as I don't really need a screen much bigger given I have a 42 inch HDTV in the same room. In that price range, would those monitors match or beat the iMac display?
I work with a lot of text, drafting contracts and agreements so that is a factor but also for casual usage such as video streaming and playback, and photos.
Here are a couple of monitors I have considered:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Ultras...TF8&colid=3IGRKV98LECM2&coliid=I2DFZ5VI0JJ4DJ
http://www.cclonline.com/product/90...s/LG-IPS237L-23-inch-IPS-LED-Monitor/MON1143/
Would really appreciate the forum's knowledge and recommendations.
