Hey Guys,

I've got a little issue wit my Imac and my new ram sticks,

Here's the situation :

I wanted to upgrade RAM from 8GB (4x2GB) to 16GB (4x4). I got my new sticks today Corsair Mac Dedicated RAM and I installed it with no issues. But when I powered on the Mac I got a Kernel error and basically my Mac freezing on the apple logo. I managed to get to the desktop by entering safe mode ones, and the system saw the 16 GB correctly, I even managed to run a memtest which showed no errors. However, after restarting, the same kernel error appeared. I started switching the sticks, but there was no success. So I came back to the original 4x2GB sticks and the computers works fine.. What should I do ?

Any suggestions ?

Hey Guys,

I see that there are no suggestions, I did some research, and there are a few things to do,

One of them is updating the firmware and the boor ROM version. And I was just wondering about whether I can install the iMac EFI UPDATE 1.9 or 2.0 despite them being released for 2011 and 2012 imacs respectively ( I use the mid 2010 imac) Can I install these updates ?

Thanks
