Imac 24" 2.16 won't boot. White screen

Hi everyone. my iMac 24" 2.16 Ghz recently stopped booting. Once I turn it on I only get the apple logo with the wheel spinning underneath and after that I get a white screen and wouldn't boot. I have resetted the PRAM and SMC but get exactly the same. I used different ram memory just to see if it was that but still the same. I finally restarted it with cmd-v and all I get is what you guys can see in the attached image. Do you guys have any ideas what could be the problem and how to solve it. Many thanks.
