not entirely sure but it could be a sign that your dvd drive is on it's way, i was trying to install 10.6 on my iMac 24" a few months back and got this screen a few times but it worked eventually, have you tried installing from an external drive?
if not, just keep trying, it should work eventually unless you want to go and buy a new drive

mine was an official disc too brand new, try it in the external, that should work, also, ( this was how i found out my dvd drive was knackered) try burning some dual layer discs, mine refused for some reason, it would read them eventually but didnt always work

Already Let me Get it Straight!
U are sayin' that i should Keep trying 2 instal it!
But everytime i Smack the cd in the Mac, it reads it, and
says that i can't install 10.6 on this computer
Whats Wrong with my dvd Drive then ? ... So what should i do ?
Buy a new Dvd Drive ? or i a new Mac = hehe

your mac is fine, mine eventually installed on a 2.16Ghz C2D with 2Gb of ram,
dont buy a new mac, buy a new dvd drive i think would be the logical choice,

How do i Install the new DVD drive ?
Do i just buy one Random dvd Drive, and
try 2 install it ?

The 21.5" iMac ships with 10.6.2. You do not need to run the 10.6 install disc on there. Simply checking in About This Mac from the :apple: menu will confirm that you have 10.6.2 already installed and running.

view attachment
and post the screen please :)

You can't use the discs from your new iMac on the old one.

Macs come with a pair of grey discs, which has OS X on (the version that was shipping when the machine was made), but these discs only work on that particular model. Your new iMac is a 21.5" model, and the grey Snow Leopard discs it came with will only work on other 21.5" iMacs.

You need to buy a RETAIL copy of Snow Leopard to upgrade your Leopard machine.
