First of all, you should use this latest driver.

AMD Catalyst 11.10 Preview driver
https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/203..._preview/amd_catalyst_11.10_preview_sep26.exe

Graphic setting :
Set auto and manually adjust the ambient occlusion to SSAO, AF to 8X. These two are very important and no much difference on graphic. I also set Motion Blur to off and amount to 0, Anti aliasing deferred to 2X and Anti aliasing post to off.

Play on Windows mode instead of Fullscreen and adjust the window in the middle and make it bigger, covering 70%-80% of the screen.

So Far, very smooth and manage to kill easily without annoying fps drop. I don't use fraps to test but i can say the fps should be very good coz no drop in fps and the response is very smooth.

Do you still get the "detected 11.2 drivers, you need..." error message before the game loads up?

I've installed these drivers and it still happens to me, on the same machine but with a 2GB 6970M.

Advanced graphics are turned off in the beta fyi.

Hi guys ! I'm buying a new 27" and I was wondering if it was worth it to upgrade to 2gb ram on the ATI 6970.

I'm upgrading my 3 year old 24" for BF3. There's good deals on refurbs

Are you using Windows 7 x64?
i5 or i7 ?
Have you tried playing games with Eyefiniti (multi monitors)
7200rpm hdd or SSD?

Hey guys!
thinking about buying a 27" iMac but my question is will the graphic card with 512mb be enough for playing games like BF3 and Cod: MF3? or should i buy the one with 1gb graphic card? i live in sweden so the upgrade is about 400$, is it worth it?

According to this the 6770 is a few steps down from the 6970. Without a released product there is no way to be certain how well each card will perform.

Cheers,

Hmm okey, ill try asking again when BF3 comes out then :p but in general will the 512MB graphic card be okay? for general gaming? or is that too hard to say too?

But thx for the link :D

My understanding of the RAM on video cards is that the larger the display resolution the greater the importance of additional RAM. If you play at native resolution on the 27" iMac that might be a limiting factor but someone with more experience with the technical details could help here.

My ATI 5750 in the 2010 is more than enough for the games I play, SC2, AOE Online, Company of Heroes, etc at full native resolution. It does crank up the fans under Windows.

Cheers,

Hmm okey, ill probably ask this question again when BF3 comes out, just to be sure, but as the looks of it, I'm going for the 512MB it's not really worth 400$ :/

Bf3

Can anyone help me setup battlefield 3 on my iMac? I mean literally from the beggining from installing windows on bootcamp to getting AMD drivers and whatnot so i can be able to run the game. I just bought my iMac(first time using a mac), i got the 27" intel i7 quadcore 3.4ghz, 12 gigs of 1333mhz DDR3 RAM, and the AMD radeon 6970M 1024mb, so i should be able to run BF3 without a problem. If anyone could take the time to answer this I would really apreciate it

Thanks

Check out the Windows on Mac section of the forum. There are plenty of threads related to Bootcamp.
