My 2020 iMac 27 is the i5 3.3GHz with 32Gb of ram. Graphics card is the Radeon Pro 5300 4GB.

The computer has been flawless for almost two years.

Suddenly (this has happened twice in the last week) while exiting full screen video from Paramount Plus in Chrome, the computer will freeze for about ten seconds, momentarily flash a bunch of bright colored lines across the screen, then crash to the login window.

Come to think of it, it also froze at random about two weeks ago, not using video. This is all out of the blue.

This is obviously a huge inconvenience because I lose everything I'm working on. The only software change I've made was install Steam a month or two ago. Currently running Ventura 13.2.1.

My first thought is graphics card issue.

Any suggestions?

"When I bought the computer I upgraded to Crucial 32GB DDR4 RAM. That was August of 2021 and the computer has never had an issue til now"

It could be having "an issue" with the RAM now.
My suggestion is that you take out the 3rd-party RAM, and put the original back in if you still have it.
