iMac 27" and secondary monitor

I am wondering if you guys use a secondary monitor with your 27" iMac.

I replaced my PC tower with a 27" iMac. Planned to connect my old 30" dell monitor as a secondary monitor. However, I found it very uncomfortable using the 30" as a secondary monitor. It needs a lot of head turning.

I put a 23" in vertical next to the iMac now.

anyone has similar problem? I want to use iMac's retina screen as the main screen. so I positioned it at the center of my desk.

Any suggestion?
