iMac 27" Core i5 2.66 boot chime then freeze with blank white screen

Had Yosemite 10.10 beta 6 installed and working fine. Computer froze. Now it only gives boot chime and freezes on plain white screen.
I have tried:
Unplugging - no change with regular boot or with any of the following
  1. Boot with Option key – No change
  2. Boot to reset PRAM using both aluminum keyboard and back older keyboard – no change
  3. Boot using Cmd +R - no change



Any ideas?
