I booted it to see if that would make it happy, but apparently after setting the energy savings tabs to allow the screen to stay lit over ten minutes it has decided it won't sleep unless I tell it to.
The reason I moved the slider out further was the dim before off was dimming way too soon, as in if I didn't move the mouse I could have a dim screen while reading a website.
Apparently that miffed the Apple energy gods as I have found my iMac all awake in the morning screen lit to its standard brightness.
Suggestions? Could it be a web page open in firefox that keeps it alive? (though FF is minimized usually when I am done)
