hey!

crisis alert+Irony alert. today I bought an external HD to finally timemachine my studio setup (an iMac 27"). when I get home from work to boot it up, I find out the harddrive is corrupt. I tried resetting the PRAM, tried booting into Safe Mode all to no avail. all that worked was booting from the CD

I gave up and decided to just copy the HD to my external so I can actually get a fresh install on the internal harddrive to get it up and running again. question though:

How do I get disc utility (when running in CD boot mode) to see my newly bought 2tb external Lacie drive?

Right now it gets noticed in finder on my macbook pro (and in disc utility), but not in disc utility on the iMac.

I just want to copy all the files so I can make backups when they are on my external drive.

Thanks for the interest! :)

best regards,

Jonathan
