Hi,
  • iMac (27-inch, Late 2012)
  • US Cable Cord
  • Using with standard British Version 3 Pin plug (only plug not converter)
  • 13AMP Multi plug from mains
  • Home earthing/grounding checked by electrician
  • Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh ( 220-240 Volts;Primary Socket Types: British, Euro)

Still the iMac passes through electricity and have to wear footwear to prevent feeling the shock and the electricity still passes as long as it is running.

What are my options. Can't change the whole earthing/grounding and not very interested in attaching a wire to drop down the ground.

Any suggestion on multi plug or AMP change? or getting a UPS or voltage stabiliser?

Please help as I bought this iMac saving money, doing odd jobs.

Thanks

Sounds like you have an earthing issue. Replacing the cord with a British plug to match your supply should earth your iMac and stop your fingers from tingling.

sounds like your issue is the US plug isn't providing the ground to the mac. as above swap it out for the UK version so your mac will then be grounded. You are currently providing the path to earth.

Thanks guys. Fortunately its working. I've also added a in line power surge adapter that connects straight to mac and add the power cord to it.

Thanks again for all your inputs.
