iMac 27" late 2012: Facetime Cam gets choppy to the point of freezing cam.

not a super techie here but everytime i have to webcam either on skype or whatever including photobooth my video feed slows down and gets choppy. i also use iglasses (current version) for my cam . and runnin on OSX 10.9.5. got no clue what to look for or check. pls help and ask me if more info needed thnx

Not a super techie either, but it sounds like a network/ping issue. Do you have another computer/phone which runs Skype etc on the same network? Try running from that as a test (unless you've already done so and can eliminate this).
