iMac 27" mid 2010 complete freeze

My iMac (mid 2010) freezes completely from time to time, it doesn't respond to keyboard or mouse, everything that is happening on the screen freezes too, only fans continue to work. Nothing helps, I need to use power button to turn it off/on.
I installed the software but the problem persist... any help?
