Hello Guys,

I need some guidance here so I am in the market for a new 27" mac. Now my question is should I wait for the new one in december or get one now?

Any tips will be great ! Thanks!

If you can wait though, it's only a month away. I'd wait, they'll be the same price for newer, faster technology.

If you need one now and you have to have it, you won't be too disappointed, other than when you see the other ones are selling for the same price in a month.. They are still pretty beefy. Unless you are planning on doing cutting edge gaming, etc..

When it comes to new tech, I personally could never buy an old model knowing the new one is JUST around the corner. There are always other factors that play in a decision like this, but that is just my opinion.

It's just a matter of weeks away, if that. You will be far better off waiting and getting an imac with the new Fusion drive...My spies tell me that a 1TB fusion is going to add about £250 (UK) to the price, and an upgrade well worth waiting for IMO.

if you want the optical drive get one now, a refurbished one is going to be much cheaper than a 2012 model.

Wait

Pros of the new one :
+ new design (I realize this is a personal opinion)
+ less reflection
+ GFX options
+ USB 3.0

(potential) Cons :
- lack of optical drive
- no more Firewire
- no audio in
- higher price

Question marks :
? Fusion Drive > Can be really good or not ( have to wait for reviews)

It is the worst time to by an new 2011 imac.
You'll pay full price for it .

Wait a couple of weeks.
Then the old ones will be sold with EOL rebates.
And the new ones will be relased.

Pros of the new one :
+ new design (I realize this is a personal opinion)
+ less reflection
+ GFX options

(potential) Cons :

More Pro

Faster GPU/GPU/RAM

More cons

Unkown problems
