Ok, so I have successfully installed windows on this machine before, but when I wanted to upgrade to windows 7, I erased my windows partition and tried making a new, bigger one. Now, the mac tells me that "some files could not be moved" and therefore, it cannot partition a windows part.
After doing some disk-readings and trying to find/correct errors, I thought it would be just as easy to just reinstall OSX all together. I took a backup and put the install disc in. Choosing to install OSX does nothing, and restarting the system and holding C to boot up from CD does nothing either. Actually, holding buttons while booting up rarely works.
I haven't tried this in several weeks, so I'm sorry if my explanation seems loose, but I was wondering if any of you have a widely known solution to this problem. At least I would like to be able to reinstall snow leopard, as I'm sure that would help to some degree. Or do you think my HD is broken?
The iMac is the top-of-the-line, quad core i7, 8GB, 2TB, Radeon HD 4850 monster. I was really hoping for some bootcamp gaming with it
Thanks
