So the other day I got a mini display to DVI adapter to connect my samsung syncmaster T260HD to. It isn't working.

The system pref. won't detect the monitor. And 5 sec after turning my monitor on... it goes to a black screen... as if my computer is putting it there. The monitor would have an error if there was no signal.

Now I have gotten another adapter just to see if that one was faulty but it still doesn't work.

I have restarted my computer and checked all the connections.

The only thing I can think of is that my DVI cable isn't the correct one. After looking at a DVI diagram I found out that my dvi cable is single link. Is that an issue? I've asked people and they said it shouldn't.

So please help me!
