What should I buy to upgrade to 4GB? Is it 2 x 2GB sticks or do I only need to buy one since I have the one 2GB that came with Apple? Is there a particular brand...Ive been hearing crucial. Anyone have the exact specs? THANKS!

Actually , the RAM sticks that come preinstalled in the imac are 2 x 1GB . So to upgrade to 4GB , you have to replace both . (So yeah , 2 x 2GB)

Some good brands are Crucial and OWC . I myself bought Omni Techologies but haven't tried it yet (My iMac will arrive tomorrow x3 )

Hope I helped =)

What are the specs exactly that I need to get?

What am I? Your slave?

Go to the Crucial website, tell it what computer you have and it'll tell you what RAM to buy. If you really want me to do that for you I charge $100 an hour, minimum charge 1 hour.
