Morning All,

I currently have an iMac 5K Late 2015, 4GHz i7 with 32GB Ram (Admittedly today realised you can upgrade to 64GB now!)

I have been considering updating as occasionally my iMac gets laggy recently, not sure to wait for new iMac to be announced OR to buy an older Mac Pro and upgrade to the max.

OR is there anything I can do to make my iMac perform better?

What are peoples thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

they just announced the 2019 iMacs not that long ago, chances are there won't be anything anytime soon.

do you have all ssd or fusion drive? what kind of lag? perhaps the RAM will help or an erase and install will be good, just install everything new and not migrate.

if you have a fusion drive you can try splitting the ssd/ hdd to separate disks (I dont generally recommend but may help).

a 2013 Mac Pro is the wrong direction, you'll have to invest in 6 year old tech plus a display which it can only handle 4K. At that point you might as well just keep your iMac or get a Mac mini with a 4K or 5K LG. it all depends on what you are doing.
