imac 5k mini display port

Hi guys,

Just joined here hoping that I can get some help. I've been trying to connect my imac 5k to my vizio 4k (60 inch) television but for some reason it is not getting detected. I am using the Insignia NS-PD94592 mini display port and a pretty decent HDMI cable.

I know the adapter is working since when I connect my imac to my old Philips 1080p tv it displays on the TV. Do I need a better mini display port or does the Imac not support 4k external tv?
