We have many pets at home so dust, dander and hair is a problem. I also have to leave my computer on almost 24/7 for work. Has anyone seen or made a dust filter for the air intake on an iMac?

I made quite a few back in the day for PCs before "real" filters came out. I would take a sheet of fabric softener and use it for 5-7 dryer loads. The sheet would be thick enough to trap dust but thin enough not to restrict airflow too much. I would then use some gaffers tape to attach it and change it out every 2-3 weeks as well as keeping an eye on my temps. I don't know hot this would work on an iMac due to the unique form factor and how critical the airflow is.

Has anyone made a filter or seen one for sale that would allow sufficient airflow ? I am thinking of getting a very thin automotive hepa filter and trying it after work.

Thanks
