I just ordered and received my AppleCare number (and it worked) from the LA Computer Company http://www.lacomputercompany.com/
It cost me 120 USD instead of 199 CDN
I sent them an e-mail previously to ask how to do it - just put CA as the state when you enter your address, select your iMac plan, choose 'pick it up' so there are no shipping charges. Then, in the notes field, tell them your real province and country so they can charge your credit card with the right address. A day later, you will receive the AppleCare code via e-mail. I just saved about 80 bucks!
You might want to send them an e-mail beforehand so they know exactly what you want to do. Tell them that you do not need the applecare box.

So Applecare purchased from the US works on Canadian machine? Cool, I've been wondering about that.

Thanks for the warm welcome mr brightside
Been here since early 2007 almost daily following Apple stuff and reading the news and forum
Bought first Mac in August (aluminium entry level iMac) and I absolutely love it. Why did I wait so long??
