iMac Application Soaking Up RAM Like A Sponge

The application Steam is taking up about 330 MB of RAM, when idle (not doing anything/sitting at home page). I don't think this is normal. With only Steam active, it takes up about 1/3 of my RAM out of 4 GB. Is this a serious problem?
It is also telling me that my Hard Drive has serious fragmentation. thx.

I'm not sure how much RAM Steam should actually be using. However, you can easily go from 4GB to 16GB RAM for around $100 if you get on the RAM bandwagon quickly enough. This way you won't need to worry about running low on RAM.

You don't really get fragmentation on OSX. RAM is suppose to be used. Free RAM = wasted RAM. As long as your computer doesn't slow down it's normal.
