iMac as firewall server

Hey guys,

I'm new here, but i was curious if anyone has ever used their first gen intel based iMac for a linux firewall server?

The reason i am reaching out is because the iMac only has one ethernet port and all firewall servers i know, require more than one port.

WOuld using a usb ethernet port work for this setup?

I'm thinking of using Smoothwall for my firewall.

Let me know what oyu all have to say!

PS. This is for a home network that will have atleast fileshare server and a webserver, the smoothwall server and maybe a print server
