Hi...
I know you can run a second iMac as a second display for other macs, such as laptop or even another iMac, but does the 'slave iMac' still run behind all that as an independent system??
I've managed to break the glass on my current iMac, and due to pressing issues of need, rather then wait for it to be repaired, I've ordered a replacement. Once setup and running, I'll get the broken one fixed. But to put it to use, I was thinking firstly, using its screen in slave mode, but I also was thinking...it could become a separate media server whilst I use its screen with the new iMac. So all that would be running is iTunes and file sharing.
Is this workable?
