My wife has a laptop computer. She has two big computing wishes - one is to have a big monitor for her laptop computer, and the second is to buy a 24" IMac.

So I have been searching to find the cheapest solution to enable the IMac to work as a monitor. It seems ridiculous that the IMac doesn't have an input to be used as a monitor, but I guess Apple doesn't do everything right. But I would have expected to see a third party add-on to do the job.

I'm not finding one in my web searches though.

Any recommendations?

I'm not sure you can... the iMac is not a monitor with computer... it's a laptop without a keyboard. It isn't meant to be used as a "monitor" in the fashion you wish.

Can't she do what she wants to do on the iMac and then copy projects to her laptop and from her laptop to her iMac?

Don't know if this works...but maybe worth a try?

I was looking for some additional display space for my iMac G5 onto my iMac G3 thats just been hanging around in a corner. I came across this on lowendmac.com , havent tried it yet...if anyone have any experience on it...please comment.
