With a new hard drive installed on my iMAC PPC G5, I can't get DIVX 6.5 to work on 10.5.8, and DIVX 7 doesn't work on a PPC. Also, I no longer have Classic so my AGFA SnapScan 1212u Scanner has no driver. Suggestions would really be appreciated

It may be time to upgrade. Backwards compatibility isn't what it once was on Mac platform.

I too have an iMac G5 and am wondering what to do with it as everyone drops the PPC platform.

For a 1212u, use the open source SANE. And here is a nice GUI to put on top of it.

Do you want DivX for streaming or for playing local files? Perian enables Quicktime support for most modern file types:
