iMac booting/hard drive compatibility?

Hi, I have a 17" iMac 2104 (intel) The hard drive died and thus I purchased a 2tb Seagate Barracuda. I'm assuming that this will operate with the iMac, but I was never able to find any proper details saying whether it was or was not. Secondly, I do not have the OS X Tiger installation CD, and I was curious if there's a way for me to download it and install from Apple. Seeing as I do own the iMac, I should have the license for the OS as well. (Much like how my macbook pro was able to just do a internet recovery of OS X Lion. Please let me know!

The drive will work ok, assuming it's SATA.

I don't think you can download Tiger from Apple but at an Apple Store they should be able to give you the install media or tell you who to write to at Apple.
